When Can You Get Your First Job? (Start Earning Money!!)

Ever wondered when you can legally start working in the UK? Turns out, you can get your first job way earlier than you might think!

How Young Can You Start Working? 

If you're 13, you're legally allowed to work part-time.

But there are some restrictions on when and how much you can work…

✅ Ages 13-14:

• School days: Max 2 hours per day (1 before school + 1 after, or both after school).

• Saturdays: Up to 5 hours.

• Sundays: 2 hours.

• School holidays: Max 5 hours per day, 25 hours per week.

✅ Ages 15-16:

• School days: Still 2 hours max.

• Saturdays: You can now work up to 8 hours.

• Sundays: Stays at 2 hours.

• School holidays: Max 8 hours per day, 35 hours per week.
