π° Make $1000/month posting leaflets (any age!)
plus you do none of the work... π
Hi! Today we are walking through how to build and scale a flyer distribution network to make you loads in passive income! π

Potentially one of the easiest hustles (especially for college kids) & I haven't seen anyone talk about this before.
πΆ Risk Level: 3/10 (very low risk)
π¨βπ©βπ§ Age Level: 16+
π΅ Investment Required: $0 - $100
π€ Potential earnings: $100 - $1000/week (if you scale the biz)
How it will work:
You will be targeting and helping small local businesses in your area. π
Places like local hair salons, food takeaways, cafes, car mechanics, churches and tradespeople like window cleaners, gutter cleaning, gardeners etc.
You will offer to print and hand out leaflets directly into people's letterboxes π¬
You will agree to hand out a certain amount of leaflets for a certain price. π€
Let's do some math:

According to Google, it takes an average of 7-8 hours to deliver 1000 leaflets through doors.
You pay a mate or someone else $10/hr to distribute leaflets through letter boxes.
Each leaflet then costs an average of $0.07 to hand out (not a bad price π€·ββοΈ)
Printing the leaflets will likely cost around $0.03 per leaflet to print (if you buy in bulk online)
That means each leaflet will cost you $0.10 to print and pay to distribute.
πΈ Here's how we make the big bucks:

You will essentially become the middleman π
You will aim to make a 50-100% profit margin on each leaflet handed out.
If a leaflet costs you $0.10 to print and distribute, you can charge the business $0.20 per leaflet...
That essentially means you'll make $0.10 on every leaflet you hand out.
$0.10/ per flyer might not sound like much, but it does mean you'll be making $100 in passive income whilst sitting at home doing nothing π€―
And if you decide you want to hand the leaflets out yourself - you'll be making an extra $70 on top of that $100 π
Why should I hire someone else to do the work? π€

Though it will make you less money, it will give you something 10x more valuable: time π₯.
You can use this time to get more clients in towns and cities near you or work on a different side hustle!
If you choose to spend 7 hours physically handing out the leaflets, you'll make an extra $70. But if you use that time for outreach, you could find five potential new clients, paying you an extra $500. That takes your hourly pay from $10/hr to over $100/hr π³
Outsourcing is something all millionaires do. You can only scale and grow a biz if you do this.
π How can I market this business?

Firstly create a spreadsheet with every single possible independent business in your area that might want your services (I'll link one I made at the end of this guide). In your spreadsheet, you'll want to input their email and real-life addresses and have ways to track your progress in reaching out.
Next, draft and send a killer email about how you will help grow their business through leaflet marketing at a great price. π§
Suppose they don't respond to you, no worries! Send a follow-up. The average person needs to see something a few times before they say yes.
Now make a day trip where just you rock up (in person) to each business and quickly give them your leaflet that advertised your services in person! A handwritten note on the back explaining how you can help them will also add a personal touch and go a long way.
You can also use social media pages, Facebook 'small business communities' and apps like Next Door to promote your business.
Bonus tip: when getting started, offer to hand out 1,000 leaflets for a business for free (maybe one that's run by a family friend). This will instantly give you a testimonial, showing other people you have done this before, and got results: increasing overall perceived trust in your services.
π³ How can I upsell and increase profits?

Design the leaflets: As an optional extra, you could charge the business $100 to design a high-quality flyer. Don't know how to create a flyer? No problem. There are loads of quality free sites like Canva where you can create professional-looking designs.
If you need help learning graphic design, don't spend $100s on a course. Just sign up for a free trial of Skillshare with my link here and take one of their many graphic design classes by industry professionals.
The other option is you (again) outsource this job to a freelancer on Fiverr and become the middleman. $50 can get a great-looking flyer made by a professional. You can sign up to Fiverr here!
Get your client on a retainer: Getting a paid job from a business is cool. But getting a paid job 2-3x a year is even better! Perhaps offer your client a 10% discount per job when they book for you to hand out leaflets on a retainer (i.e. every 4-6 months)
Finally, bundle leaflets together: If you can find three businesses that want their leaflets handed out in the same locations: you can hire someone to hand out three leaflets per door instead of just one. This will dramatically increase profits. Instead of costing you $0.07 per leaflet to deliver, it will only cost $0.024 per leaflet. This is potentially one of the best things you can do in this business.
Any other concerns? π€·ββοΈ

Is this even legal? If you live in the UK then yes π. The Government website states you don't need permission when posting leaflets through letter boxes...
π If you are outside of the UK (i.e. the US or India), check your local state's website, you might need a permit, but it's unlikely.
βοΈ Remember: we are only putting leaflets through doors, not handing out flyers on the street. That will likely require permission/ permits.
How do I hire people to work for me? If you are a student, you are in luck! There are always loads of cash-strapped teens around college looking for extra money; they'll be perfectly happy with $10/ hour. If you are not a student, reach out to friends and go onto Facebook communities and the NextDoor app advertising temporary work. This usually gets lots of responses very quickly since many people are taking extra jobs due to the recession. People you hire will be classified as self-employed, so you won't need to worry about taxes! π
Can I work with established franchises? Let's say my local Dominos or Pizza Hut? In short, no. There is a possibility they'll say yes, but usually, franchises have corporate companies that deal with flyer distribution.
How should I charge a client? Send them two invoices (I'll leave a link to an invoice template at the end of this post). The first invoice will act as a deposit (50%), you can use this to cover the printing and labour cost. The second invoice (50%) can be given to them upon completion.
