How I Accidentally Designed My Own Dream Job
Side Hustle Deep Dive With Noah
Hey guys, Noah (@noahxboa) here…
From a young age, I envisioned myself as becoming an actor when I grew up.
I loved being creative, and performing on stage in Musicals and Theatre productions: I was very extroverted. Everybody around me assumed that would be a good career for me.
Over time, my dreams evolved. I considered careers as a presenter, documentary maker, and even a filmmaker.
Then came a realization: I didn’t need to wait for a 'big break' in any of these fields.
In 2020, a careers advisor came into my School and told me to study media and drama in Manchester, and then get a job at the BBC. Man, I’m glad I didn’t follow that path... 😂
Instead, I threw myself into content creation on social media during my school and college years, carving out my own dream job. At 19, I’ve already built a semi-successful career that blends all my passions.
As a full-time content creator, each day is a new opportunity to do whatever the f**k I want. Whether it's crafting a mini-documentary or filming a skit with friends, the creative avenues are limitless.
Sure, not every piece of content I create goes viral, but every so often one of them does. That's all part of this journey.
I've learned one crucial lesson: let creativity be your career compass. It leads to fulfilment and unexpected destinations. 😁
See you next time :)
